Ahl Al-Bayt University (Peace Be Upon Them) Raises the Hussaini Banner in a Solemn Ashura Ceremony

In a moving Ashura atmosphere, Ahl Al-Bayt University (Peace Be Upon Them) held its annual ceremony to raise the banner of Imam Al-Husayn (Peace Be Upon Him) on the university flagpole. The event was attended by a delegation from the Holy Imam Husayn Shrine, headed by Mr. Abdul Amir Al-Quraishi, along with a distinguished gathering of the university's deans and faculty members.

The Ashura commemoration commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an by Sayyid Hassan Al-Qazwini, followed by a moment of reverence and the recitation of Surat Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of truth, from the Battle of Karbala to the present day.

In his address, Mr. Abdul Amir Al-Quraishi, Head of the Karbala Studies Center, emphasized the symbolic significance of this annual ceremony, describing it as a ritual that reflects the community's profound attachment to the Hussaini path.

For his part, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Hadi Al-Modarresi highlighted the divine qualities of Imam Al-Husayn (Peace Be Upon Him), describing him as the universal Imam of both the seen and the unseen. He reflected on the enduring legacy of sacrifice that began with the prophets and reached its ultimate expression through Imam Al-Husayn's martyrdom for the sake of faith and divine principles.

Sayyid Al-Modarresi further stressed the everlasting nature of the Hussaini banner, affirming that "it has never fallen and will continue to be raised by the hands of the faithful until the reappearance of the Proof of Allah, the Master of the Age (may Allah hasten his noble reappearance)."

The ceremony concluded with the Hussaini delegation, accompanied by His Eminence Sayyid Al-Modarresi, ascending to the rooftop of the university building, where the Hussaini banner was ceremonially raised to fly proudly over the campus, symbolizing the steadfast commitment of the Ahl Al-Bayt University community—its faculty, staff, and students—to the righteous path of Imam Al-Husayn (Peace Be Upon Him).
