University President Professor Dr. Hamid Al-Najdi and his accompanying delegation participated, in the presence of the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Holy Karbala, the Governor of Karbala, and an elite group of politicians, academics, and Popular Mobilization Forces leaders, in the ceremony commemorating the thirty-seventh anniversary of the passing of Grand Ayatollah Imam Khomeini (may his secret be sanctified) and the martyrs of the Islamic Republic, led by Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei (may his secret be sanctified). The ceremony, held at the consulate building of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Holy Karbala, began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, the playing of the national anthems of the Republic of Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran, and speeches delivered for the occasion by officials at the Consulate of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Governor of Holy Karbala, followed by the screening of documentary films, anthems, and various activities. It is noteworthy that the delegation accompanying the University President included Mr. Mohammed Al-Qazwini, Professor Haider Al-Maamar, and Dr. Zainab Al-Mousawi.
