The College of Pharmacy holds its fourth scientific conference as part of the activities of the twentieth cultural and scientific week.
Under the patronage of the President of Ahlulbait University, Prof. Dr. Hamid Al-Najdi, and under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saleh Sahib Al-Khazali, the College of Pharmacy held its fourth scientific conference as part of the activities of the 20th Cultural and Scientific Week, with wide official and academic attendance.
The conference was attended by the university founder, Dr. Mohsen Al-Qazwini, and the university president, Prof. Dr. Hamid Al-Najdi, alongside a distinguished group of scientific and professional figures, including:
• Member of Parliament, Pharmacist Dr. Alaq Jalil Al-Ghurabi
• Head of the Iraqi Pharmacists Syndicate, Pharmacist Dr. Haider Fuad Al-Sayegh
• Dean of the College of Pharmacy – University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Sarmad Hashim Al-Khatib
• Director of the Inspection and Complaints Department at the Holy Karbala Health Directorate, Pharmacist Dr. Sarmad Alwan Hussein
• Director of the Pharmacy and Medical Supplies Department at the Holy Karbala Health Directorate, Pharmacist Dr. Raad Hamid
• Head of the Karbala Pharmacists Syndicate, Pharmacist Dr. Ali Ghani Al-Maammar
In addition to the presence of a number of college deans, a group of pharmacists from the Holy Karbala governorate, and active participation from the college students.
The conference included a comprehensive scientific program featuring official opening speeches, as well as a keynote scientific lecture bearing the title of the conference,
“Developing Pharmacy College Curricula to Enhance the Quality of Pharmaceutical Education,” delivered by the Dean of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Sarmad Hashim Al-Khatib, in which he addressed the most prominent challenges and future prospects for developing pharmaceutical education in Iraq.
The conference also featured a distinguished scientific discussion panel that included:
• Head of the Iraqi Pharmacists Syndicate, Pharmacist Dr. Haider Fuad Al-Sayegh
• Dean of the College of Pharmacy – University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Sarmad Hashim Al-Khatib
• Dean of the College of Pharmacy – Ahlulbait University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saleh Sahib Al-Khazali
It was moderated by the Head of the Clinical Laboratory Sciences Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Abdul Jabbar Hashim, and was a fruitful session that addressed multiple aspects related to the reality of the pharmaceutical profession and the mechanisms for developing education and integration between academic and professional institutions.
The conference also saw a notable scientific exhibition that included a display of student research and scientific projects, alongside the annual medical clinic which provided its services to visitors. Furthermore, pharmaceutical products were showcased by participating entities, and Al-Mutathaqaf House participated by displaying a collection of specialized scientific books, in a step aimed at promoting scientific culture and supporting research and innovation.
The conference activities concluded with a ceremony honoring researchers and participants in appreciation of their scientific efforts, reaffirming the college's continuous support for scientific research and the enhancement of a solid academic environment.
This conference comes as part of the efforts of the College of Pharmacy at Ahlulbait University to consolidate its scientific status and open up to academic and health institutions, in a way that contributes to the development of the pharmaceutical sector and serves the community.
